Apple Leadership Shake-Up: John Ternus Set to Succeed Tim Cook as CEO
Apple Inc. has announced a major leadership transition, naming John Ternus as its next Chief Executive Officer, succeeding longtime chief Tim Cook. The move marks a significant shift at one of the world’s most valuable technology companies.
Ternus, currently Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, will officially take over as CEO on September 1, 2026, following a planned succession strategy approved by Apple’s board.
A 25-year veteran of Apple, Ternus joined the company in 2001 and has played a crucial role in shaping its most iconic products, including the iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
