Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda Supports Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Fraud Allegations
Former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has backed Rahul Gandhi’s claims of voter manipulation in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, alleging that the state government was effectively “stolen” through electoral irregularities.
Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi on Wednesday, Hooda said the voices of the people were suppressed during the polls. “From the beginning, there were concerns that public opinion in Haryana was ignored. The election was not just about vote theft; the Haryana government was stolen through it,” he stated, adding that Rahul Gandhi had provided detailed evidence regarding the alleged manipulation and the number of votes affected.
Hooda highlighted discrepancies between the exit polls and the actual results, noting that no exit poll had projected the BJP winning more than 29 seats, while the Congress was expected to secure a clear majority. “The obvious doesn’t need proof. Look at the last few Haryana Assembly elections—whoever won the postal ballots ended up forming the government,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi had earlier claimed that approximately 25 lakh voters in Haryana were either duplicate, non-existent, or subject to manipulation, raising questions about the legitimacy of the election outcome. Hooda’s comments reinforce Congress’s stance that electoral irregularities played a decisive role in shaping the state’s 2024 Assembly results.
