Palestinian Militants Hand Over Remains of Two More Hostages to Red Cross
Gaza City / Jerusalem — Palestinian militants have handed over the remains of two additional hostages to the Red Cross in Gaza, Israeli authorities said Thursday, marking the latest development in efforts under the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Gaza.
The remains were transported by Israeli troops into Israel and sent to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification, according to the Israeli military. This brings the total number of hostages returned since the ceasefire began to 17, with 11 others still in Gaza expected to be handed over in accordance with the agreement.
The exchanges come amid continued tensions in the region, including recent Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, highlighting both the fragility of the ceasefire and ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the hostage situation.
