The excitement around Varanasi reached a new high during the Globetrotter event in Hyderabad on November 15, 2025, where the film’s official title was unveiled. Previously referred to as SSMB29, the movie features a star-studded lineup that has already captured fans’ imaginations. SS Rajamouli shared glimpses of the film online with the caption, “Varanasi to the World.”

First Look at Varanasi

The teaser of Varanasi opens with stunning drone shots of Varanasi, one of India’s oldest cities, and quickly escalates to dramatic sequences, including the asteroid Sambhavi striking Earth. The film takes audiences across Antarctica, Africa, and iconic Indian landmarks like the Manikarnika Ghat. The teaser culminates with Mahesh Babu as Rudhra, riding a bull with a trishul in hand, hinting at the film’s epic scale and grandeur.

Although the release date has yet to be officially announced, Varanasi is expected to hit theaters in 2027, promising one of the most anticipated cinematic experiences of the year.
