Rahul Gandhi Slams PM Modi in Bihar: ‘Chhath, Yamuna Only Tools for Votes’

Referring to the Prime Minister’s recent dip in the Yamuna River, Gandhi said it was nothing but a “swimming pool drama.”

“Modiji says he is bathing in the Yamuna, but there was no Yamuna there — it was a pond. He doesn’t care about the river or about Chhath Puja; he only cares about votes,” Gandhi said.

He alleged that the NDA could “do anything for votes,” adding with sarcasm that if voters asked, “Modiji would even dance on stage to win an election.”

The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha further accused the BJP of “stealing mandates” in Maharashtra and Haryana, warning that similar attempts could be made in Bihar. Gandhi said the Nitish Kumar government was trying to suppress “the voice of Bihar,” but vowed that the Mahagathbandhan would form a government representing all sections of society.

“Our government will belong to every caste, community, and religion. We will not leave anyone behind,” he said.

Gandhi also invoked B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution, accusing the BJP and RSS of “attacking and hollowing out institutions” across India.

“Whatever rights people have — education, jobs, votes — come from the Constitution, and we will protect it at any cost,” he declared.

Touching on local issues, Gandhi criticised the Nitish Kumar administration for paper leak scandals, saying the system was crushing the aspirations of hardworking students.

Concluding his speech, the Congress leader urged Bihar’s youth to use their “skills and determination” to build Bihar just as they have built other states and cities across India.
