T20I Heroics: Axar Patel Says Boundary Size No Longer Dictates His Shots
Carrara, November 7, 2025 — Indian all-rounder Axar Patel played a decisive role in India’s emphatic 48-run victory over Australia in the fourth T20I at Carrara, earning Player of the Match honours for his performance with both bat and ball.
Axar revealed that he had learnt from past mistakes, emphasizing that he no longer lets the size of the boundary dictate his shot selection. The strategy was evident in his approach during the final over off Marcus Stoinis, where he smashed a four and a six, finishing with 21 runs off 11 balls.
His efforts helped India reach a competitive total of 167, which proved too much for the visitors, who fell short by 48 runs. In addition to his batting heroics, Axar also chipped in with two crucial wickets, contributing to a well-rounded all-round performance.
With this win, India now holds an unassailable 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series, having seen the first game washed out. The team’s focus now shifts to maintaining momentum and sealing the series in the remaining matches.
