Assam Police Receive Zubeen Garg’s Post-Mortem and Toxicology Reports from Singapore
Guwahati, November 1, 2025: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Saturday that Singapore authorities have formally handed over singer Zubeen Garg’s post-mortem and toxicology reports to the Assam Police.
The documents were shared under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) framework, which facilitates cooperation between India and Singapore in criminal investigations.
“When our Special Investigation Team (SIT) visited Singapore, officials there had assured us of full cooperation. Today, they have officially transmitted the post-mortem and toxicology findings along with relevant procedural guidelines,” the Chief Minister said.
The reports are expected to help investigators gain clarity on the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death. Assam Police officials stated that the findings will be examined closely before taking any further legal or investigative steps.
Zubeen Garg, one of Assam’s most celebrated musicians, passed away in Singapore earlier this year, prompting widespread mourning across the region and a high-profile probe into the cause of his death.
