Brazilian Model Reacts to Viral Photo Misuse in Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Fraud Claim

A Brazilian model, Larissa Nery, has expressed shock after her image went viral in connection with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claim of voter fraud in Haryana. During a press conference titled ‘H Files,’ Gandhi displayed a photograph of a woman he alleged was “used 22 times” in the voter rolls under multiple names, including Seema, Sweety, and Saraswati.

The image prompted widespread online searches and discussions, with netizens trying to identify the woman shown. Later, it was traced to Brazilian photographer Matheus Ferrero, whose portraits are publicly available online.

Larissa, who works at a salon in Brazil, appeared in a video responding to the unexpected attention. Speaking in Portuguese, she seemed stunned by the situation and explained that the photo was taken when she was about 18 or 20 years old. In the translated video, she said, “They are using an old photo of mine to run, I don’t know, some election where you have to vote. In India, they are portraying me as an Indian woman to scam others.”

The model described the situation as “madness,” revealing that reporters had tried contacting her and even called the salon where she works. “Oh my god, how crazy. What madness is this, what world are we living in?” she remarked. She added that journalists had found her Instagram and reached out to her there, but she chose not to respond.

Larissa also shared that she had been inundated with messages and had received the viral image from a friend in another city. Screenshots of her reaction and video have been widely circulated across social media platforms, sparking further debate online.
