The Ajay Devgn–Rakul Preet Singh romance comedy De De Pyaar De 2 faced its first major box office test on Monday (Day 4) and registered a sharp drop of around 70 percent, according to early trade reports.

Weekend Performance vs Monday Fall

Over its opening weekend, the film saw solid audience traction:
Day 1: ~₹8.75 cr
Day 2: ~₹12.25 cr
Day 3 (Sunday): ~₹13.75 cr
On Monday, however, collections dipped dramatically. According to one report, the film made only ₹0.85 cr on its fourth day.
Early estimates place the four-day total (India net) at ₹35.6–₹37.0 cr.

Analysis of the Drop

Trade analysts note that while a drop on Monday is expected, a 70% decline from Sunday is steeper than ideal for a film banking on its weekend momentum.
According to Pinkvilla, the drop can be partly attributed to the absence of strong weekday footfall, as the film struggled to maintain its weekend rush.
The Times of India adds that De De Pyaar De 2 is now lagging behind other Ajay Devgn releases like Raid 2 and Shaitaan, raising concerns about its long-term box office potential.
