Delhi Crime Branch Busts Southeast Delhi Gang, Kingpin Arrested
In a major breakthrough in the fight against organised crime, the Delhi Police Crime Branch on Monday successfully busted a notorious gang operating in South East Delhi and arrested its alleged kingpin, Saurav alias Lefty, along with his close associate Abhishek alias Bhola.
According to police, Saurav Lefty had been absconding for the last six months in connection with multiple serious criminal cases, including robbery, attempt to murder, and other violent offences. Crime authorities had even announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for information leading to his capture.
Officials said the operation followed specific intelligence about the gang’s movements and was part of a multi‑state manhunt. Lefty was arrested in Dehradun, where he was reportedly working as a taxi driver while evading law enforcement. Following his arrest, the Crime Branch raided the Sangam Vihar area of Delhi and apprehended his associate, Abhishek.
Police described Lefty as a habitual offender with a long criminal history and labelled him a “Bad Character” at the Kalindi Kunj Police Station. The gang had been involved in an ongoing violent feud with a rival group, which escalated after a shooting at an associate’s residence and a retaliatory attack in late 2025 that left one person dead and another seriously injured.
Both the kingpin and his associate have been presented before a court, and further investigations are ongoing as authorities work to dismantle the wider network linked to the gang.
