Noida Labour Protest Probe Reveals ₹1 Crore Foreign Funding Link; NSA Imposed Amid Violence
Noida Police have uncovered an alleged ₹1 crore foreign funding link in recent violent labour protests, leading authorities to invoke the National Security Act against key accused individuals.
Noida — Authorities in Noida have uncovered an alleged foreign funding network worth nearly ₹1 crore linked to recent violent labour protests in the industrial region, prompting the administration to invoke the National Security Act (NSA) against key accused individuals.
According to police officials, the investigation into the clashes began after multiple incidents of arson, vandalism, and attacks on public property were reported during labour demonstrations earlier this week. Several factories and commercial establishments were temporarily shut down as tensions escalated across parts of the industrial belt.
During the probe, investigators reportedly traced suspicious financial transactions from overseas sources into accounts allegedly connected to organisers involved in the protests. Officials claim the funds were used to mobilise crowds, arrange logistics, and intensify unrest during the demonstrations.
Senior police officers stated that digital evidence, bank records, and communication data are being examined to identify the wider network behind the funding trail. Multiple suspects have already been detained for questioning, while raids continue at several locations in Delhi-NCR and neighbouring states.
The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration confirmed that the National Security Act has been invoked against certain accused persons due to the severity of the violence and its potential impact on public order and industrial stability.
Meanwhile, labour groups have demanded a fair investigation and warned against generalising the actions of a few individuals. Several worker unions maintained that the majority of protesters were demonstrating peacefully over wage-related concerns before the situation turned violent.
Security has been tightened across industrial areas in Noida, Greater Noida, and adjoining zones to prevent further unrest. Additional police personnel and rapid action teams have been deployed in sensitive sectors.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and further arrests are likely as authorities continue to examine financial and digital evidence linked to the case.
