Bihar to Get Its Own Film City! CM Samrat Choudhary Makes Big Announcement After Pawan Singh’s Request

Bihar could soon have its own dedicated Film City, giving a major boost to the Bhojpuri entertainment industry and regional cinema.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary during the grand finale of the JioHotstar show Bhojpuri Bawal. The show, which began streaming on August 2, is scheduled to conclude with its grand finale on September 6. Several prominent names from Bhojpuri cinema and politics have been associated with the show.

During the finale event, Samrat Choudhary said that Pawan Singh had raised the demand for a film city in Bihar. Responding to the request, the Chief Minister promised that a studio would be developed on the land selected for the project.

According to the announcement, the government intends to support the film industry and provide opportunities for people involved in acting, direction, writing, music and other areas of filmmaking. The government has also encouraged filmmaking in regional languages including Bhojpuri, Angika, Magahi, Bajjika and Maithili.

The move could be significant for Bihar's entertainment ecosystem. A dedicated film infrastructure could provide production facilities within the state while also helping filmmakers showcase Bihar's culture, heritage and locations to wider audiences.

The event featured several well-known Bhojpuri personalities, including Pawan Singh, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Amrapali Dubey, Kajal Raghwani and Pakhi Hegde. Pawan Singh also performed his popular track Lollipop Lagelu during the finale celebrations.

Pawan Singh appeared emotional after the Chief Minister's announcement and folded his hands in gratitude.

The proposed Film City could therefore become a major new chapter for Bhojpuri cinema, potentially creating more opportunities for artists, technicians, producers and filmmakers from Bihar.
