"I Will Deal With It": Lalu Yadav Responds to Family Feud Following Bihar Poll Defeat

Sources said Lalu made the remarks during a meeting with newly elected RJD MLAs on Monday, marking his first public comment on the shocking family developments.

"This is an internal family matter and will be resolved within the family. I am there to deal with it," Lalu told party members in Patna, in the presence of senior leaders, including his wife Rabri Devi, eldest daughter Misa Bharti, and Jagdanand Singh. During the meeting, Tejashwi Yadav was chosen as the legislature party leader, with Lalu praising his efforts in the elections despite the party winning only 25 seats out of 243.

The Tejashwi-Rohini Feud

The quarrel reportedly erupted on Saturday, a day after election results were announced. Tejashwi, who led the RJD’s campaign as the chief ministerial candidate, allegedly blamed Rohini for the loss, saying:

"Tumhare karan ham chunaav haar gae. Tumhara haay lag gaya ham logo ko"
("We lost the election because of you. We are cursed because of you.")

Sources claim the argument escalated, with Tejashwi throwing a slipper at Rohini and verbally abusing her.

Rohini Acharya’s Response

Rohini, one of Lalu Yadav’s nine children, posted on X that she was disowning her family and quitting politics, claiming that senior RJD aides Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat Khan had asked her to step back. She said she was taking all the blame for unspecified issues but indicated frustration with the handling of the party’s loss.

In subsequent posts, Rohini alleged she had been humiliated and verbally abused, including derogatory remarks about her kidney donation to her father in 2022. She described being forced to leave her maternal home and expressed anguish over the family’s treatment, saying:

"May none of you ever make a mistake like mine; may no family ever have a daughter like Rohini."

Rohini’s discontent reportedly stems from the expulsion of her elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav from the party and differences over party responsibilities, despite her active campaigning for Tejashwi before the elections.

Additionally, three other daughters — Rajlakshmi, Ragini, and Chanda — have reportedly left the family residence at 10 Circular Road, Patna.

Political and Family Implications

The feud highlights ongoing internal tensions within the RJD and the Yadav family, raising questions about party unity ahead of future elections. While Lalu Yadav insists he will manage the situation personally, the public nature of the disputes has drawn widespread attention and speculation.
