73-Year-Old Filmmaker Shakeel Noorani Arrested Over Rape, Sexual Harassment and Blackmail Allegations by 33-Year-Old Actress

Bollywood filmmaker Shakeel Noorani has landed in legal trouble after a 33-year-old actress accused him of rape, sexual harassment and blackmail. The 73-year-old filmmaker was arrested by Mumbai's Malvani Police from a farmhouse in Maharashtra's Satara district.

According to the complaint filed with the police, the actress claimed that she came in contact with Noorani in 2016. She has alleged that she was sexually exploited and that Noorani allegedly gave her a substance before recording an objectionable video.

The actress further alleged that the video was later used to threaten and blackmail her. Her complaint reportedly contains allegations of repeated sexual exploitation and also mentions a pregnancy and subsequent abortion.

Following the complaint, police registered a case against Noorani under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation. After reportedly remaining away from the police for several weeks, Noorani was traced to a farmhouse in Satara and arrested.

The filmmaker is currently in police custody as the investigation continues. Police are examining the allegations and other evidence connected to the case.

However, it is important to note that the allegations against Shakeel Noorani have not been proven in court. Noorani's lawyer has reportedly rejected the accusations and maintained that the allegations are false.

Shakeel Noorani has been associated with Bollywood for several years and is known for films including 'Bade Dilwala' (1999) and 'Joru Ka Ghulam' (2000).
