Trump Organization Unveils Plan for Australia’s Tallest Building on Gold Coast

The Trump Organization, in partnership with Queensland’s Altus Property Group, has unveiled plans for a landmark development on Australia’s Gold Coast that is set to become the tallest building in the country. The proposed 91-storey Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast is valued at around A$1.5 billion (about US$1.06 billion) and would rise approximately 340 metres above Surfers Paradise, surpassing existing skyscrapers.

The mixed-use tower will include a six-star resort hotel, around 270 luxury apartments, high-end retail and dining spaces, and amenities such as a beach club and swimming pool. While branded with the Trump name, the project will be owned and built in Australia.

The deal was finalised in Florida at Mar-a-Lago, marking the Trump Organization’s first official real estate venture in Australia. Supporters say it will bolster tourism and create jobs, while critics and community members have sparked debate over its impact on the local skyline and values.

Construction is expected to begin later this year, with developers aiming to complete the skyscraper well before the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
