Heatwave forces schools in Noida to switch to early morning schedule (7:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Amid rising temperatures across North India, authorities in Noida have revised school timings for government institutions, shifting classes to morning hours from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The decision comes as the region continues to experience an intense heatwave, with daytime temperatures crossing 40°C. Officials said the move aims to safeguard students from prolonged exposure to extreme heat, particularly during peak afternoon hours.
Education department authorities stated that the revised schedule will remain in place until weather conditions improve. Schools have also been advised to ensure adequate drinking water facilities and avoid outdoor activities during school hours.
Parents have largely welcomed the decision, citing concerns over children’s health and safety during extreme weather. However, some logistical challenges, including transportation adjustments and early morning routines, are expected.
