“Civilizational Erasure”: Trump Administration Issues Stark Warning to Europe

According to the 2025 U.S. National Security Strategy issued by the administration, Europe is reportedly at risk of “civilizational erasure” unless it reverses certain political, social, and demographic trends.
The document pins the looming threat on several factors—large-scale immigration, plummeting birthrates, weakening national identities, restrictions on free speech, and policies that it claims undermine sovereignty and democratic freedom.
If current patterns continue, the strategy warns, Europe might become “unrecognizable in 20 years or less.”
Additionally, the report criticizes the influence of supranational institutions—particularly the European Union—accusing them of contributing to what it describes as a decline in political liberty, national cohesion, and what the administration calls “civilizational self-confidence.”
