Everyday life across Asia is being significantly disrupted as the ongoing Iran war triggers a major fuel and energy crisis across the region. The conflict has disrupted oil and gas supplies, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route through which a large portion of the world’s oil and gas is transported, much of it to Asian countries.

As fuel supplies tighten and prices rise, several Asian countries are introducing emergency measures to reduce fuel consumption. Some governments have moved to shorter work weeks, work-from-home policies, fuel rationing, and restrictions on vehicle use.
