Haryana Braces for Four-Day Heatwave Surge, Yellow Alert Till May 22; Faridabad Residents Advised to Stay Indoors

Haryana is witnessing intense heatwave conditions, with rising temperatures affecting normal life across several districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions till May 22, warning residents to take necessary precautions over the next four days.

Districts including Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, and Rohtak are likely to record temperatures between 45°C and 46°C. In response, local authorities have urged citizens to avoid stepping out between noon and 4 PM unless absolutely necessary. Special precautions have been recommended for children, senior citizens, and people with existing health conditions.

The health department has also released an advisory warning against heatstroke and dehydration. Residents have been advised to stay hydrated, wear light cotton clothes, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Weather experts say persistent dry winds and clear skies are contributing to the sharp rise in temperatures across North India. If weather conditions remain unchanged, the heatwave intensity could increase further in the coming days.
