The move aims to make key Aadhaar services more easily accessible to adult residents across India, reducing the distances people must travel for enrollment and biometric updates.
According to officials, the expanded network of full‑service centers will strengthen the availability of in‑person Aadhaar services—including new enrollments, biometric updates, demographic corrections, issuance of PVC Aadhaar cards, and grievance redressal—particularly in areas where access has previously been limited. While many Aadhaar updates, such as address or date of birth, can increasingly be completed online, biometric and other sensitive services still require visits to physical centers.
The plan reflects UIDAI’s ongoing efforts to enhance the digital identity infrastructure in the country and ensure that Aadhaar services remain inclusive and efficient. This expansion also coincides with broader digital governance initiatives that seek to streamline citizen service delivery across sectors.
Officials have indicated that the rollout of 473 full‑service Aadhaar Seva Kendras will also be accompanied by improvements in service quality and user experience, such as appointment systems and better handling of resident queues and queries. By bringing such services closer to communities nationwide, the authority hopes to reduce reliance on distant centers and improve satisfaction among citizens requiring Aadhaar assistance.
