AIU Suspends Al-Falah University Membership Amid Red Fort Blast Investigation
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has suspended the membership of Al-Falah University, Faridabad, citing concerns that the institution is “not in good standing,” according to its bye-laws.
This decision comes amid a high-profile investigation into a car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, in which doctors affiliated with Al-Falah University are alleged to have links to a terror module.
In an official letter, AIU Secretary-General Pankaj Mittal said the suspension takes effect immediately. The university has been directed to stop using the AIU name or logo on its website and in any of its official activities.
In addition, AIU flagged the university’s failure to maintain its “good standing,” a status required to retain membership.
