BJP Hits Back at Rahul Gandhi Over ‘H Files’ Allegations, Rijiju Calls Claims “Baseless Drama”
New Delhi, November 6: The political slugfest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress intensified after Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi unveiled what he called the “H Files” — a set of alleged proofs of “fake and duplicate voting” in the Haryana Assembly elections 2024. The BJP swiftly countered the allegations, accusing Gandhi of spreading misinformation and diverting attention from key issues.
Rijiju: “Rahul in Collusion with Anti-India Forces”
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju sharply criticised Gandhi, saying that the Congress leader “is in collusion with anti-India forces” and is “trying to provoke the youth with false narratives.”
Addressing a press conference, Rijiju said,
“Rahul Gandhi’s statements are a waste of national time. Instead of focusing on serious matters, he is busy manufacturing fake stories. The games he plays will never succeed because India’s youth are smart and stand firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Rijiju referred to Gandhi’s past press conferences and took a swipe at his alleged “foreign trips” during crucial political moments.
“He goes abroad during elections, returns with ideas from there, and creates baseless presentations here. Politicians must discuss real issues, not imaginary conspiracies,” Rijiju said.
Mocking Rahul Gandhi’s past remarks, Rijiju added,
“He talks about atom bombs and hydrogen bombs, but his bombs never explode. That’s how seriously he takes national politics.”
BJP’s Counterattack on Social Media
BJP spokesperson Radhika Khera also hit out at Gandhi on X (formerly Twitter), responding to his “Brazilian model” remark used to highlight voter duplication. She wrote in Hindi,
“A vote was also cast in Hindustan by an ‘Italian’ woman. Do you know her name?” — a clear jibe referring to Congress matriarch Sonia Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi’s “H Files” Allegations
At a press briefing held at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi alleged large-scale irregularities in the Haryana polls, which the BJP won for a third consecutive term, securing 48 of the 90 seats.
According to Gandhi, around 25 lakh fake or duplicate voters were detected across multiple constituencies — a figure he said could have significantly impacted results.
“This means one in eight voters in Haryana are fake — that’s nearly 12.5%,” he claimed. “When the BJP’s margin of victory in several seats was only 22,000, it’s clear how the election was manipulated.”
He also displayed images during the press event, claiming that a single photo was used to register 223 votes, and another voter allegedly voted 22 times in different booths.
Calling the alleged scam “vote chori”, Gandhi accused the Election Commission of “working under pressure from the BJP” and urged Gen Z voters to be vigilant.
“Your future is being stolen from you,” he said, appealing to young voters ahead of the Bihar elections.
Political Reactions and Fallout
The BJP has dismissed the “H Files” as a political stunt aimed at creating controversy before another major election. Party leaders have accused Gandhi of trying to “delegitimise democratic institutions” and “internationalise domestic politics.”
Meanwhile, Congress leaders have defended Gandhi, saying his data-based claims deserve investigation rather than ridicule.
The exchange marks yet another flashpoint in the growing political confrontation between the BJP and Congress, with both sides using the Haryana election as a battleground for broader national narratives.
