Delhi Burari Murder: Cousin Allegedly Kills 17-Year-Old Girl, Body Found Inside Suitcase

A gruesome murder in North Delhi’s Burari area has shocked residents after the body of a 17-year-old girl was allegedly found stuffed inside a suitcase. Police have arrested her cousin in connection with the case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.

According to police and media reports, the case came to light after authorities received information about suspicious activity involving a suitcase. During a checkpoint in the Burari area, police reportedly noticed a young man behaving suspiciously and stopped him for questioning. The man was identified as Avinash.

During interrogation, police said the accused allegedly confessed to killing his cousin and told investigators where the body had been disposed of. Acting on the information, a police team reached the Ajit Vihar area and recovered the suitcase containing the girl’s body.

Suspicion Over an Alleged Affair

The preliminary investigation has pointed towards suspicion over an alleged relationship as a possible motive. According to police, Avinash allegedly suspected his cousin of having an affair and is accused of killing her because of that suspicion.

Investigators, however, are examining whether this was the sole motive behind the murder. Police are also looking into the possibility of involvement of any other person and are reconstructing the events leading up to the killing.

Victim Had Recently Come to Delhi

Police sources cited in media reports said the victim had recently travelled to Delhi from Bihar. She was allegedly killed on Sunday, after which her body was placed inside a suitcase and taken to the Burari area.

The recovery of the body before it could be permanently concealed became a crucial breakthrough for investigators. Police are now examining the timeline of the victim’s movements and her interactions with the accused.

Post-Mortem Report Awaited

The girl’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Police are awaiting the medical report to establish the exact cause and manner of death and to determine other important forensic details.
