Groom Stabbed on Stage During Wedding; Cameraman’s Drone Trails Fleeing Attackers for 2 Km in Amravati
A shocking scene unfolded at a wedding in Maharashtra’s Amravati when a groom was stabbed mid-ceremony. In a dramatic twist, the videographer used his drone to chase and record the attackers’ escape.
A joyous wedding celebration in Amravati, Maharashtra, turned into a scene of panic and disbelief when the groom was stabbed multiple times on stage during the ceremony. The incident occurred on Monday, as guests looked on in horror.
According to reports, the attacker — identified as Ragho Jitendra Bakshi — approached the stage and stabbed the groom three times before fleeing the venue. Chaos erupted as attendees tried to assist the injured groom while others scrambled for safety.
In a quick-thinking act of presence of mind, the wedding videographer, who had been capturing the ceremony, deployed his drone to follow the escaping assailant. The drone footage — which has since gone viral — shows the attacker in an orange hoodie sprinting from the venue. Moments later, he was seen joining another man dressed in black on a motorcycle parked nearby.
The drone trailed the duo for nearly two kilometres, recording their escape route through the streets. A relative of the couple can also be seen in the footage attempting to chase them on foot before they sped away.
Police sources confirmed that the groom was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently under treatment. Authorities are analyzing the drone footage to aid in the identification and capture of the suspects.
Officials have praised the videographer’s presence of mind, noting that the aerial footage could prove crucial in the ongoing investigation.
Local police have launched a manhunt for the attackers and are reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas to track their movements beyond the drone’s coverage range.
The shocking incident has raised concerns about security arrangements at private functions, highlighting how technology and quick thinking can play a role in real-time crime tracking.
