Haryana Man Arrested for Killing Sister Over Marriage Dispute
Rohtak, Haryana, November 21, 2025 – A shocking case of familial violence came to light in Rohtak, Haryana, where a man allegedly shot dead his sister for marrying against the family’s wishes. Police have arrested the accused, Sanju, along with three accomplices, before they could target her husband.
The 23-year-old victim, Sapna, had married Suraj, an autorickshaw driver, over two years ago, a decision reportedly opposed by her family. On Wednesday evening, Sanju and his accomplices carried out the attack at Sapna’s home in Kahani village, injuring Suraj’s brother, Sahil, while Suraj was not at home.
Police acted swiftly after receiving credible information that Sanju planned to kill Suraj. A checkpoint was set up on Ladot-Bohar road, where the accused were intercepted. Reports say the suspects opened fire at the police before being apprehended.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the incident, highlighting the ongoing issue of family-related violence over marriage disputes in certain regions.
