Major Terror Plot Foiled: J&K Police Seize 300 kg of RDX and Weapons Linked to Arrested Doctor
Explosives recovered from Faridabad after high-stakes investigation; officials call it one of the largest hauls in recent years
SRINAGAR / FARIDABAD – In a major breakthrough against terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with Haryana Police, have recovered a massive cache of explosives and weapons — including 300 kilograms of RDX, an AK-47 rifle, and a large quantity of ammunition — from a site in Faridabad.
The recovery came after the interrogation of a doctor, who was recently arrested in connection with a terror funding and logistics network under investigation in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials say the operation has averted a possible large-scale attack and exposed a sophisticated cross-state terror network.
“This is one of the largest recoveries of explosives in recent years,” a senior J&K Police official said. “The material could have caused massive devastation if not intercepted in time.”
The seized RDX was safely defused by bomb disposal units, while the weapons and ammunition have been sent for forensic testing. Investigators believe the explosives were being transported for use in planned attacks on key installations in northern India.
Sources said the arrested doctor may have been acting as a conduit, helping to store and move explosives under the guise of professional activity. Police are now tracing his contacts in both Kashmir and Haryana as part of a wider anti-terror operation.
The discovery underscores growing concerns about terror networks expanding their reach beyond traditional conflict zones and exploiting civilian fronts to evade detection.
Authorities have tightened security in Jammu, Kashmir, and adjoining regions as investigations continue.
