Muskan, Accused in ‘Blue Drum’ Murder Case, Gives Birth to Baby Girl in Meerut
Undertrial brought to medical college after labour pains intensified; mother and newborn reported healthy
Muskan Rastogi, the prime accused in the high-profile ‘blue drum’ murder case, gave birth to a baby girl at the Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College on Monday evening, officials confirmed. Muskan, who is currently lodged in Meerut jail for the alleged murder of her husband Saurabh Rajput and concealing his body in a plastic drum, was admitted to the hospital late Sunday night after her labour pains intensified.
According to authorities, she was brought to the medical college around 11:30 pm on November 23, 2025, and doctors monitored her condition through the night.
Healthy Mother and Child, Say Doctors
Dr. Shakun Singh, head of the Obstetrics Department, told PTI that the newborn weighed 2.4 kg, and a successful normal delivery was conducted.
Both mother and child are stable, jail officials said, adding that the medical team ensured all required protocols for undertrial patients were followed.
A Case That Shocked the Region
Muskan Rastogi’s arrest earlier this year made headlines across Uttar Pradesh after police discovered the body of her husband hidden inside a blue plastic drum at their residence. The case drew widespread attention due to its disturbing details and the allegations of premeditated murder.
As legal proceedings continue, Muskan will remain under judicial custody once she is declared fit for discharge from the hospital.
