Patna: Janata Dal-United president Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record tenth term on Thursday in a grand ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan, Patna. The oath-taking event also saw 18 cabinet ministers and two deputy CMs assuming office.
Earlier, Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, marking the conclusion of the current assembly term, which ends on November 22. This move paves the way for the 18th Bihar Assembly, set to convene its first session from November 26, during which the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be elected and newly elected members will take their oaths.

The NDA returned to power with a strong mandate, winning 202 of 243 assembly seats:

The decisive victory allows the NDA to form the government comfortably, with Nitish Kumar continuing as CM and the new cabinet shaping Bihar’s governance for the next term.
