Shehnaaz Gill Opens Up: ‘I Betrayed My Ex Because Love and Respect Weren’t Reciprocated’

In a recent interview, the Bigg Boss fame star admitted that she once betrayed her ex-boyfriend, explaining that she took that step because her emotional needs were not being met.
‘The Vibe Wasn’t Matching Anymore’
Speaking with SMTV’s YouTube channel, Shehnaaz revealed,
“I have [betrayed], in love. Not otherwise. The vibe wasn’t matching. When you expect something from someone and they don’t meet those expectations, you can’t just keep giving. I believe in give and take. Love should be mutual.”
Shehnaaz confessed that the relationship had turned one-sided, leaving her emotionally drained. “If someone can’t love you back, then what’s the point? A woman wants love in exchange for love,” she added.
‘Love Should Be About Respect, Independence, and Space’
The Ikk Kudi actor elaborated on what she values most in a partner — mutual respect, independence, and open-mindedness.
“My ideal partner should be understanding and give me space. We should be able to talk without phones, share our work, and appreciate each other,” she said, stressing the importance of emotional maturity and equality in modern relationships.
‘I Believe in Splitting Bills — Men Shouldn’t Feel Insecure’
On the topic of finances, Shehnaaz highlighted her belief in equality and shared responsibility.
“In all my relationships, I’ve shared expenses. If we’re on a vacation, we split the bills. But some men have a problem with it—they think, ‘Why are you paying?’ I find that insecure. A woman paying for herself shouldn’t be threatening.”
