Arshad Warsi Opens Up on Joining Aryan Khan’s The Bads of Bollywood*: “I Just Asked One Simple Question…”**

Arshad Warsi’s cameo as Ghafoor in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood* may have been brief, but it’s left an indelible mark on audiences. The actor’s gangster character, who bails out the hero in crucial moments, has quickly become one of the most talked-about highlights of the series.

Speaking on the Figuring Out with Raj Shamani podcast, Arshad revealed how quickly he agreed to be part of the project. “Aryan called me for The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. It was supposed to be just a one or two-day job. I didn’t even think—I said, ‘I’m in, just tell me what to do.’ He explained, ‘It’s a gangster who helps the hero.’ I said, ‘Done, I’m doing it!’”

He shared a humorous moment from the set that sealed his trust in Aryan as a filmmaker. “I asked him a simple question about a boat coming with four black-clad guys—where it’s coming from. He said, ‘Somalia.’ The way he described it, I knew exactly what kind of director he is. I thought, done, let’s go. Honestly, as an actor, the origin of the boat is irrelevant,” Arshad said with a laugh.

Warsi also expressed admiration for Aryan’s clarity and vision. “These are the directors where, once you understand the story, you’re instantly on the same page. If you’re unsure, you just listen to him quietly. Aryan knows what he wants, and he’s very precise about it,” he noted.

Fans can also look forward to more of Ghafoor. In a past interview with India Today, Arshad confirmed, “Aryan wants me back for season two. He may seem a bit casual, but he knows exactly what he wants. I told him, ‘You don’t need to tempt me, I’ll do it for you.’”

The actor also reflected on the value of cameo appearances. “Small roles can be incredibly impactful. Look at Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Munna Bhai MBBS. One scene done right can leave the audience glued to you,” he said.

Adding his signature humor, Arshad joked about a dream crossover: “Imagine combining Circuit, Ghafoor, Babban from Dedh Ishqiya, and Jeetu in one story. It would be chaotic, fun, and we’d take over the entire industry,” he laughed.
