Apple Unveils MacBook Neo — Its Cheapest New MacBook Yet

Apple has officially launched the MacBook Neo, marking the company’s most affordable MacBook in its history. Priced from about $599 in the U.S. — and around ₹69,900 in India — the Neo significantly undercuts previous entry-level models, broadening Apple’s reach into budget-conscious consumer and education segments.

This new laptop features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with up to 500 nits brightness, the A18 Pro chip originally designed for the iPhone, and up to 16 hours of battery life, delivering capable performance for day-to-day tasks and on-device AI. It comes with 8 GB RAM and choices of 256 GB or 512 GB storage. The MacBook Neo also offers Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, and a 1080p front camera, and is available in several colors including silver, indigo, blush, and citrus.

To hit its breakthrough price, Apple made some trade-offs — such as limited ports and fixed memory — but the Neo still delivers essential Mac functionality and macOS experience, positioning it as an attractive option for students, first-time Mac buyers, and mainstream users seeking a premium design on a budget. Pre-orders are open now, with retail availability set for March 11, 2026.
