Big Breakthrough in Faridabad Terror Case: Woman Doctor Arrested After AK-47 Discovery
Faridabad, Haryana | Pudvi Times: A major breakthrough has been reported in the Faridabad terror module case as authorities arrested a woman doctor from Lucknow after an AK-47 rifle was recovered from her car, linked to a larger terror network spanning Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The arrest comes just a day after police seized 360 kilograms of explosives and weapons from a rented house in Dhauj village. The property was occupied by Dr Muzammil Shakil, a 35-year-old physician from Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir, who previously taught at Al-Falah Medical College.
AK-47 Recovered From Doctor’s Car
Investigators recovered the assault rifle from a Swift Dezire belonging to Dr Shaheen, which was reportedly in possession of Dr Shakil in Faridabad. This marks the eighth arrest linked to the terror module, which authorities claim has ties to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Dr Shaheen is the third medical professional implicated in the case.
She has been flown to Srinagar for custodial interrogation, with authorities withholding details on the exact dates of her arrest.
Massive Ammonium Nitrate Seizure
In a related development, police seized 2,563 kilograms of ammonium nitrate from a second house rented by Dr Shakil in Fatehpur Taga village, Faridabad. The house had been rented from a local imam about eight months ago.
“The ammonium nitrate was recovered from the cleric’s property. The house owner, Maulana Istaq, is being questioned, but it is too early to disclose further details,” said Varun Dahiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Faridabad.
Joint Operation Across States
The case has involved a coordinated effort between the police forces of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, along with central agencies. Officials have termed the recent arrests a major operational breakthrough, highlighting the seriousness of the network that allegedly intended large-scale terror activities.
Public Reaction and Security Concerns
News of the arrests has sent shockwaves across the region, prompting tighter security measures and increased vigilance at public locations. Law enforcement agencies are continuing investigations to uncover the full extent of the module’s activities.
