Kejriwal Calls BJP a ‘Burden on Gujarat,’ Urges People to Unite Against Party in Upcoming Polls

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), describing it as a “burden on the soil of Gujarat” and called for voters to come together to remove the party in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking at a Mahapanchayat event, Kejriwal highlighted the historical significance of the day, coinciding with the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said, “On this sacred land of Gujarat, we celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Lion of Gujarat and India. Patel was a pioneer in fighting for farmers’ rights. In 1918, he led the Kheda movement against British policies, and in 1928, the Bardoli Satyagraha, compelling the British to accept the farmers’ demands.”

Kejriwal’s remarks came as part of his campaign to strengthen AAP’s presence in Gujarat, emphasizing the need for political change and suggesting that the BJP had failed to address local issues effectively. He urged citizens to take inspiration from Patel’s legacy of leadership and justice, framing the upcoming elections as a chance for the people to assert their power.

The AAP leader also touched upon development, farmers’ welfare, and governance, positioning his party as a viable alternative to the current administration in Gujarat.
