“Thailand Launches Airstrikes as Border Clash with Cambodia Reignites”

On 8 December 2025, the military of Thailand announced it had launched airstrikes along its disputed border with Cambodia, after fresh clashes reportedly left one Thai soldier dead and several others wounded.

According to the Thai army, artillery and mortar fire from Cambodian positions struck Thai territory before dawn, prompting a retaliatory strike by Thai fighter jets targeting “military installations” in several border areas. 

Thailand claimed the move was taken to “suppress further Cambodian supporting-fire attacks” and defend its sovereignty.
