Delhi Crime Season 3 Creators Explain Three-Year Gap: “Good Things Take Time”
Mumbai, November 6: The creators of Netflix’s hit series Delhi Crime, Tanuj Chopra and Apoorva Bakshi, have addressed the long three-year wait for the show’s third season, insisting that the extended timeline was necessary to maintain quality.
Speaking ahead of the premiere of Delhi Crime Season 3, Chopra explained that the team wanted to ensure that the new season upheld the high standards set by its predecessors.
“Good things take time to make. Every detail, every scene, every character arc has to feel real and grounded. We didn’t want to rush anything,” he said.
Returning Stronger
The third season sees Shefali Shah reprising her role as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, leading the investigative team through a fresh, intense case that dives into the darker aspects of crime in the capital.
Apoorva Bakshi added that the delay allowed the team to explore more nuanced storytelling:
“This season has been crafted with care. We’ve taken our time to develop the narrative, introduce compelling characters, and ensure the stakes feel higher than ever. It was about getting it right, not just getting it out.”
What Fans Can Expect
Delhi Crime 3 introduces Huma Qureshi as the season’s primary antagonist, a cunning mastermind running a human trafficking operation. The season continues to showcase the courage and resilience of Vartika and her team, including returning cast members Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Sayani Gupta, Mita Vashisht, and others.
Chopra emphasized the authenticity that fans have come to expect from the show:
“We wanted every investigation, every interrogation, and every interaction to feel believable. That’s the hallmark of Delhi Crime, and we stayed true to it.”
The new season launches on Netflix on November 13, promising intense drama, social commentary, and the gripping investigative storytelling that made the series a global sensation.
