Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again underscored his government's tough stance on organized crime, stating that “eliminating mafias” is the subject he likes the most. The remark came during a public interaction as the chief minister reflected on his nine years in office.

The statement quickly drew attention across political circles, as it highlighted one of the defining themes of his administration since taking charge of India’s most populous state in 2017. According to Yogi Adityanath, strengthening law and order and dismantling criminal networks have remained among his government's highest priorities.
